| Admission
The School exists, under the control of the Governors, as a Voluntary Aided School, to provide a broad general education according to the principles of the Church of England.
In each of the following categories, places will be allocated according to the distance between home and the porch door of St Laurence Church, on the basis of a straight-line measurement. Any child with a Statement of Special Educational Needs is required to be admitted to the school that is named in the Statement. This gives such children overall priority for admission to the named school. NB Local Authority definitions of brother/sister, parent, shared responsibility and separating final qualifier applications have been adopted.

Should a place not be granted, an Appeal may be lodged in writing to the Chair of Governors. An independent hearing will be arranged by the Diocese.
Enquiries Regarding Admission
Informal enquiries are welcome and prospective parents may visit the school by appointment with the Headteacher. The Bursar, Mrs Gardiner, will be pleased to arrange this.
Pre-School Visits
After being offered a place in one of our Reception classes, children and parents are invited to a ‘Workshop’ in the Summer Term prior to admission. Entry in September is planned to enable children to settle with confidence into the routines of school.
All children automatically have the opportunity of transferring to the Junior School at the end of Year 2. During the Summer Term, prior to this move, there are opportunities for both children and parents to visit the Junior School.
